Surroundings of Podhajska

Surroundings of Radava do not offer its visitors only bathing and relaxing in water from the "Dead Sea", but you will find enough hiking routes as well.

Village Radava is situated in the west part of Pohronska upland. There are perfect conditions for cycling (4), hiking (8) on well signed routes.

You can have a look at many religious buildings - churches, ruin of baroque monastery and church Paulinov Mariacalad, place of pilgrimage - Marianska well (Pozba) and other interesting chapels (Travnica, Bardonovo etc.).

A bit further you can visit other famous places like »Live green map of the world« - we could describe this wonderful park like that. You will be able to see more then 2300 kinds of precious, foreign plants in area of 67 ha in Arborete Mlynany in Tesarske Mlynany (www.arboretum.sav.sk).

We also recommend you to visit Tekovske museum (www.muzeumlevice.sk) and Tekovska planetarium (www.hvezdarenlevice.sk) in Levice. When you will be in Levice, do not forget to visit old castle, that was built at the end of 13th century. First writen mention about this castle is dated about 1318 and its first known owner was Matus Cak Trenciansky.

Another interesting place of this region is Slovak Central Planetarium in Hurbanov, which is 28 km far away and National Stable Topolcianky (www.nztopolcianky.sk),This stable belongs among the most world´s interesting stables and Slovakians are proud to announce, that it is their national cultural heritage. There is a little manor in Topolcianky, former summer house of presidents of the Czechoslovakia.
