Geothermal spring of strong mineralized water was reached in 1973 at depth of 1900 m. The spring produces 50 litres of 80°C hot water every single minute (www.obecpodhajska.sk).

Although Slovakia is inland coutry, thanks to this spring it could say it has its own »sea«. It sounds unbelievable, but the water is unique, its composition and healthy effects are similar to water from the Dead Sea.
